Contest Brief

Design Brief:

Create a collection of 10 engaging and age-appropriate t-shirt designs inspired by Catholic themes and symbols for children aged 2 to 14 years old. The designs should resonate with the target audience, primarily children from Catholic families or communities. Designs should appeal to both younger children and teenagers, taking into consideration their varying interests, understanding whilst still being rooted in catholic symbolism.

Whilst we think majority of our designs will be monochrome we would like to see some mixed colour designs also.

Key Themes and Symbols:
Each design should effectively incorporate one or more Catholic themes:
Jesus Christ: Representations of Jesus Christ in a child-friendly manner, emphasizing love, kindness, and compassion. Can also include Divine Mercy representations.
Rosary Beads: Simple yet elegant representations of rosary beads, symbolizing prayer, devotion, and contemplation.
Madonna and Child: Graceful portrayals of the Madonna and Child, showcasing maternal love, purity, and reverence. This can also include anything Marian, including references to approved apparitions (ie. Mary of XYZ, pray for us).
Icons: Catholic Iconography
Stained Glass Window: Abstract interpretations of stained glass windows found in Catholic churches, featuring geometric patterns and vibrant monochrome hues.
Faith Quotes: Inspirational quotes or phrases from scripture, saints, or notable Catholic figures encouraging reflection and spiritual growth.
Bible Stories: Illustrations or symbols from popular Bible stories, such as Noah’s Ark, David and Goliath, or the Nativity.
Guardian Angels: Imagery depicting guardian angels watching over and protecting children.
Sacraments: Symbols or representations of key Catholic sacraments like Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Saints: Iconic figures from Catholicism, presented in a way that appeals to children and highlights their virtues and stories.
Cross and Crucifix: Incorporate variations of crosses and crucifixes, keeping in mind age-appropriate designs.
Prayers: simple catholic prayers
Praise and Worship: Illustrations of children praying, attending Mass, or engaging in spiritual activities.
Nature and Creation: Imagery showcasing the beauty of God’s creation, such as animals, plants, and landscapes.
Unity and Community: Designs that promote unity, friendship, and belonging within the Catholic community.
Age Appropriateness: Ensure that designs are suitable for children across different age groups, with simpler designs for younger children and more intricate or abstract designs for teenagers.
Color Palette: Utilize vibrant and appealing colors that resonate with children without overwhelming them. Consider using traditional Catholic colors like gold, white, blue, and green.
Playful Elements: Incorporate elements of playfulness and whimsy to engage younger children, such as cartoon-like characters or interactive designs.
Positive Messaging: Emphasize positive and uplifting messages that promote love, kindness, empathy, and faith.

Ideal Candidate Skills:
- Experience designing children's clothing or graphics
- Knowledge of Catholic symbolism or experience in religious design
- Ability to translate concepts into engaging, age-appropriate graphics.

We would also like our brand logo somewhere on the T-shirt without interrupting the actual t shirt design. Ie this could be for example the designs being on the front of the T shirts and the logo being small on the back near the top of the shirt. (logo Attached).


Working together, let's create a line of t-shirts that seamlessly blend faith and fashion for kids.
